My biography as a guitarist…

About Me

I am Eddie Lover, an Italian guitarist, composer, and producer born in Prato, Italy. My passion for the guitar ignited at the age of 13 after watching a Blues concert on TV. Before embarking on my musical journey playing blues, I began by studying classical guitar at the Giuseppe Verdi Music School, a municipal school in Prato. There, I also took courses in solfeggio and piano, which laid a solid foundation for my musical education.

Inspired by legends such as B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, and Gary Moore, I delved into the world of blues. With my band, Double Excess, I performed in various venues across Tuscany.

As my musical interests expanded, I explored alternative sounds and practiced as a music therapist. When Double Excess disbanded in 2014, I took a break from playing.

In 2022, I pursued a master’s degree in Mixing, earning certification from Steinberg under the guidance of music producer Soma, which reignited my passion for producing music. After a seven-year hiatus from the guitar, a drummer friend invited me on stage to play a Slow Blues, and my love for music was rekindled. Since then, I have participated in Jam Sessions on the island of Fuerteventura, marking the beginning of a new musical chapter filled with new bands and collaborations.

Professional Experience

In 2000, I founded my blues band “Double Deuce,” inspired by the movie “Road House,” where the eponymous club Double Deuce featured blues music. The band performed at various events and festivals across Tuscany, gaining local recognition for our passionate blues performances.

In 2009, Double Deuce evolved into the project “Double Excess.” This new iteration of the band continued to play and grow, and today, Double Excess remains active in the Canary Islands, bringing the spirit of blues to new audiences.

Solo Performances

On Friday, November 10, 2023, I made my debut as a solo artist with my show “The Guitar Melodies Show.” This performance marked a significant milestone in my musical journey.

The show features a vast repertoire, blending timeless melodies, famous pop themes, and danceable tracks, where I replicate vocal melodies with my guitar.

It offers a unique musical experience, inviting the audience to immerse themselves in familiar tunes reimagined through the expressive strings of the guitar.

This project celebrates the beauty and versatility of the guitar, bringing a fresh perspective to well-loved songs.
