About Us

Double Excess is Eddie Lover’s hard blues band, renowned for its bold fusion of blues and rock, combining traditional roots with a modern twist. Formed in 2009, the band quickly made a name for itself in the live music scene, thanks to its high-energy performances and its ability to push the boundaries of the blues genre while staying true to its core essence.

The band’s sound is deeply rooted in the raw, emotional power of the blues, but what sets Double Excess apart is its infusion of hard rock elements that bring an extra layer of intensity to their music.

After enjoying several years of success, performing at various venues and festivals, Double Excess took a brief hiatus. However, the passion for music never faded, and in recent years, Eddie Lover decided to revive the band with a renewed sense of purpose. Double Excess is now back and stronger than ever, bringing a refreshed energy to their live shows. Their comeback marks an exciting new chapter for the band, as they continue to evolve musically while maintaining the powerful, hard blues style that their fans have come to love

After Sunny Days

“”Johnny B. Goode” is a classic rockabilly song by Chuck Berry. In this live performance at Fuerteventura Airport, we created a medley with “Around And Around” by The Rolling Stones during the special event “After Sunny Days” hosted by Enjoy Aena.

David Boogiehard

Voice: David Boogiehard is a dynamic Colombian vocalist known for his high-energy performances and commanding stage presence. With deep roots in hard rock, David’s powerful voice is the perfect fit for Double Excess’s hard blues sound. His ability to engage the audience and bring raw emotion to each performance makes him an essential part of the band. Combining the grit of blues with the intensity of rock, David’s voice elevates the band’s sound, delivering performances that are both electrifying and unforgettable.

Victoria

Voice & Piano: María Victoria Hernández Rodríguez, born on December 12, 2004, in Fuerteventura, is a talented multi-instrumentalist. While she primarily plays the electric bass, she is also skilled on the piano and guitar. Surrounded by music from a young age, Victoria began her studies in singing and piano before focusing on the bass at the Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands, where she is currently studying Musicology. In addition to her role as the pianist and occasional vocalist for Double Excess, she composes her own music, drawing inspiration from singer-songwriters, jazz, and folklore.

Eddie Lover

Guitar: Eddie Lover is the founder and lead guitarist of Double Excess, driving the band’s hard blues sound with his distinctive playing style. Known for his ability to fuse traditional blues with the energy of rock, Eddie’s guitar work brings both technical mastery and emotional depth to the band’s performances. His passion for music and dedication to evolving the sound of Double Excess has been a cornerstone of the band since its formation in 2009.

Juanes

Bass: Juan Esteban Sampedro Cardona, known as Juanes, is an 18-year-old bassist from Colombia. He began playing bass at the age of 14, and his passion for the instrument and music has driven him to constantly improve his skills. For Juanes, music is a source of joy and life, and through his playing, he strives to share that feeling with others. As the bassist for Double Excess, he brings youthful energy and dedication to the band’s sound.

Jordi

Drums: Jorge Antonio Martin Artiles, known as Jordi, was born on February 19, 1979, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. A self-taught drummer, Jordi discovered his passion for music through his father’s rock records and began playing drums by following his older brother’s example. At 16, he formed his first rock band, “Hierro Principal,” and has since played across various genres, including pop-rock, blues, and funk. Now, as the drummer for Double Excess, Jordi brings his experience and dedication to every performance.
